CDEC held 7 weekend camps for young people: Promoting and embracing European values
The Center for Educational and Community Development (CDEC) organized 7-weekend camps dedicated to young men and women, to promote and embrace European values, inform them about what the process of joining the European Union (EU) means, start negotiations for joining the EU, understand the benefits but also the challenges, including taking good practices and creating Europe at home.
These camps were held in Basarabeasca, Cimișlia, Căușeni, Taraclia, Cahul, Cantemir and Leova districts, where over 250 young people participated.
The groups of young people facilitated the camps, familiar with the theme of European values within the Hackathon "They are PROEU values", created in these districts and involved in the project "Promoting European values in the southern region of Moldova". Each camp offered participants the opportunity to engage in interactive activities, workshops and constructive discussions, all focused on themes such as cultural diversity, human rights, sustainability and solidarity. Through these activities, young people learned not only about the fundamental values of the European Union but also about their importance in everyday life.
Liliana Bagrin, a participant in the session in Cantemir: "Today I participated in an activity about European values and realized how important solidarity between member states is. I was convinced that democracy and respect for human rights are essential for the unity and prosperity of Europe ".
Efim, 12th grade student, "Matei Basarab" Theoretical High School, Or. Basarabeasca:"I liked the session because we worked in groups and discussed European values, such as respect and equality. Each group analyzed a value and we learned how it applies to our lives"
Activities were carried out within the project "Promotion of European values in the Southern region of Moldova" by CDEC. The implementation of this project is made possible by the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
